More teeth and tantrums

Ai-ya-ya. Well this week has had it's up and downs, Robbie pushed out ANOTHER tooth (hooray for him!) I think everything that's been going on this week has made for a very sensitive and short tempered toddler. If things don't go his way he is quick to throw a temper tantrum and is inconsolable. We've tried everything under the sun: holding him and telling him why we said no, putting him in a time out and walking away from his tantrums. He gets so caught up in throwing a fit there's no way to rationalize with him, so we either walk away or put him in a time out to C.I.O. (cry it out). The thing is, nothing seems to be working - this has been going on for about a week now!

We dread him once he wakes up from his nap (he's been sleeping for 3-4hrs) he's very sensitive and and snap at the drop of a hat. He's gone to bed without any food for 3 nights in a row and it doesn't seem to phase him... he'll still sleep in 'til 8am. He use to love pasta, yesterday we got him to eat two bites (we bribed him to eat it with ketchup... blech) and then he was done. He tries to throw the bowl off the table, so we put the food on his place mat but then he tries to push the mat off of the table. It's so unbelievably frustrating - I know he'll feel sooooo much better once he gets food in his belly (don't we all get cranky when we haven't eaten?!) but he'd rather go for a banana or cereal.

Today we're trying something new - he'll sleep for 2.5 hrs and then we're going to wake him up. Perhaps he's getting too much sleep? We tried to feed him lunch today, we tried giving him grilled cheese but he didn't like it... at least he tried it. He took a bite out of each piece but ended up spitting each piece out.

He's also become VERY attached to me so I think we're going to look into finding a day home for him once or twice a day. I understand that we just moved to a new home and new environment, but it's ridiculous when I leave the car for a second and he starts to cry uncontrollably while Daddy's RIGHT THERE.

On a positive note, we bought him several different types of flash cards and he's LOVING them. His vocab is expanding quite a bit. He likes to identify the picture as well as count all the cards... he doesn't always count in the proper sequence but he usually covers all the numbers from 1 to 10.
